National Gaming day

Hello everyone! I've been a member of the group for a while, but I haven't been able to meet any of you in person at a gaming party yet. I know nothing about LAN gaming, so I'll try to make it to the next board game get-together. I'm a librarian at the Lake Jackson Library, and I wanted to let you all know about National Gaming Day on November 14. This is a nationwide video and board game event happening at libraries everywhere, and Lake Jackson library is participating, and I'm inviting you all!

We're going to try to have an all-day event, with games available throughout the day for people to drop in and out of. The library already has a Wii and X-Box 360 with Rock Band, Super smash bros, and Wii Sports, and we also have a small selection of card and board games.

Are any of you interested in bringing your board/card games to play that day? I'm going to bring my Blokus Trigon game, and I'd like to meet you guys!

If there's interest, I'll post more information as we work out the details of the event.

LAN PARTY

We've been asked to host a LAN Party at Pirate's Alley Cafe in Surfside. I don't have dates or any info yet. I emailed them today so hopefully we can start working that out. So what does it take to host a LAN party. This will be our first one, and being at a business, it seems like we might not have a lot of control of some things, like whether they have internet or not. So, what do we need to think about?
